I’m still new to this myself, but yes that’s the gist of it. This isn’t k8s or even k3s. It’s an easy way to deploy a container via code on a single node system using the already present systemd for management. It let’s you pretend that Linux handles containers natively like it does daemons.

Yup. I read it as “compose and manage containers with systemd.”

Sure, there is a k8s layer abstracted into podman to do this, but you don’t manage or interact with it. Everything is a systemd unit file, a simple text document with a well understood structure. Containers are started and logged like services.

If the EDR or AV software is causing issues with your code running, it’s possibly an issue with the suite, but it’s more likely an issue with your code not following common sense security requirements like code signing.

My teams new hire project manager was even more advanced. When they found out we were working on 5-10 projects at once with no PM, they quit.

EDIT : They made at least 12 million sales on steam, and had 7 million players on Xbox, which may be Gamepass, but still makes them money.

So at $30, that’s 66million from steam minus 30% for steams cut, so they banked 44 million at least.

They can pay 440 devs 100k for at least a year. I assume their team is a bit smaller than that, so they likely have years of runway. Linkedin lists size as between 50-200 in japan, so that likely means they are making $50-70k, and there are likely more than 100 devs. I would guess they have a 4 year runway from Steam sales, and maybe 1-2 year from Gamepass.

Yes and no. The auditing is likely the harder part. You can use something like tailscale or nebula vpn to get the always on vpn/ACLs. With a dozen or two devices, it should be doable at a home scale.

Maybe. It’s a common refrain from email spam that all of the misspellings and grammatical errors are intentional choices. There is no way to confirm or disprove it either way.

However, in the “unlikely” column, the spam industry works on a “SaaS” model where the people that send out millions of spam emails are paid to do so by customers. They compromise email severs and end user devices to build up a fleet of machines to send out the messages.

The spammers themselves don’t care if the customers content succeeds or not, so there is no incentive to help them write good spam. They just pull in the next sucker who thinks sending out 10 million badly worded emails will work to make them money.
