Thats what they wanted, wasn’t it? To get out of all these overbearing EU regulations.

You would think that the time of violently holding down colonies was over.
But then the French are like: “Hold my vin rouge!”
I’m german and I absolutely disagree with these measures. It goes against all our Union within Europe stands for. We have to solve issues together not everyone on its own.
If there is a problem, we have to strengthen the EU-outside borders not the one within.
I would wish a better support and cooperation for countries with EU borders. The budget and people for strengthening german borders should go to an EU wide border cooperative that protects the EU outside borders together.
Last Generation Austria (Letzte Generation Österreich) disbanded recently, because they can’t handle legal fees anymore. Others are on the same path.
While protesters for other causes face no consequences, climate protesters get arrested regularly.
For example farmers in Germany protested that they don’t get subsidies anymore for using diesel engines, blocked and hindered main streets, people and buisnesses. Held a ferry full of people hostage because a politican with his family was on board, with no real negative or legal consequences.
German government caved to the farmers, while at the same time charging climate activists en mass for blocking highways and such.
Just wait for mom. If you are lucky you are just loosing the leg.
They are super agressive (especially when their young are around) and kill more people every year in Africa then lions or other predators. They also have very sharp teeth.
You obviously didn’t make the effort to look at more than the headline.
The article states clearly that colombia tried several other messures to control the hippo population. Neither transfering efforts nor population control were fruitful. But from the 4 hippos in escobars zoo there are now nearly 200 and they expect the population to grow to >1000 until 2035 if they don’t get the situation under controll.
Hippos are super heavy and super dangerous and super difficult to move alive. They just hunt you down and kill you for sport. In addition to being an invasive species in colombia, taking important living spaces from local wildlife (that dies in consequence too).
Disgusting scumbags.
I still have hope.
On reddit there were also a lot of right wing nuts, incels and raging misogynists, but they tended to concentrate themselves into their own subs and echo chamber bubbles. If you kept yourself away from the “Manosphere” (like r/incels, r/MGTOW, r/MensRights…), the likes of TheDonald and the equaly disturbing misandrists of r/FemaleDatingStrategy it wasn’t that bad.
I hope this wave of toxic behaviour towards each other is just some kind of growing pain and these toxic people will find themselves seperating into their own communities wigh time.
You don’t even have to take my word for it.

You obviously don’t (want to) know what ‘femicide’ actually is.
It’s true, that the total percentage of men getting murdered is higher. But they do not get murdered for their gender. Nor are they being murdered mostly by women.
When we speak of femicide, we talk about that women are disproportionately murdered by their partners or ex- partners and family members. The most dangerous place for a women is her own home.
Most attempts on a woman’s life are done by her spouse. And in the past, these murders and attempted murders were often ignored or disregarded, because it’s “just” a domestic dispute. It happens…
But the number of femicides worldwide are actually rising significantly. And that’s why its important to call it out and shine light on it. We can’t just shrug at another ex boyfriend who set his girlfriend on fire.
This doesn’t erase male murder victims, but makes usually invisible female victims visible. The same way that women’s right are not taking away any rights from men. You are not being repressed by women having equal rights.
When people talk about a high rate of deaths from barfights or whatever, that doesn’t erase victims from robberies. You only cry about victims being erased, because its women we talk about.
This isn’t much different then what they are doing since the refugee crisis in 2015. They are forcing refugees and migrants on towards other European countries.
Now they at least offer free transport.
It’s the Exception that proves the rule, is it not?
I wish the majority or at least a lot of people were like Mr. Rogers, but truth is, he was exceptional.
Lemmy is a quite misogynistic place.
Its often no fun to be a woman on here. They might rip you apart, if you say something slightly feminist (depending on where you say it). Made me think of leaving several times already.
For fucks sake, YOU replied directly to MY comment.
Please move on yourself, if you don’t want replies from people you talked at
This is literally a thead about how brazil is blocking X and froze starlinks accounts and assets.
Thank you, grammar police. Nobody would have possibly known what I meant since I forgot a word.
Innocent until proven otherwise?
I think you get something mixed up here. Innocence is not the same as being above the law. Innocence means you didn’t do anything outside the law.
And it’s a fact, that Starlink and X defied orders of the Supreme Court. I wonder what you think must be proven here?
Ever thought of the possibility that your joke just isn’t good…
Yeah, and they can do in space whatever they want (probably). But if they want to operate on earth providing a service within a country, they have to abide by the law of this country or stay out of it.
It’s like American Internet companies have to follow EU law if they want to operate in the EU, even if the company itself or their servers are in the US. GDPR privacy laws is a good example.
Oh, do they fall out of windows in China too?
