I’m not advocating for people not doing things within their power and influence (i.e. influence their friends and family), but I think it’s clear that systematic collective change is more effective than expecting billions of people to change their individual choices.

Advertising works, and Coca Cola Company has effectively endless resources for advertisement.

We have to push to influence legislation that will force companies to comply. Otherwise we’re just complaining endlessly about people not doing the right thing while these companies freely profit at the expense of the environment.

Yeah, let’s try and change the habits of billions of people rather than the practises of 1 company. Way simpler and effective solution.

In fact, let’s not even worry about the fact that the company in particular does everything in its power to keep people buying their product.

True. I suppose depending on how they designed it, they could keep them though. The PS portal for example has a screen and haptics/adaptive triggers.

Oh yeah that was at the forefront of my mind when writing that. A handheld would have the option of a much larger battery than in the dualsense, but there’s the question of how powerful this thing is expected to be and how much juice is required for that.

I hope the haptics don’t go away, it’s the best new feature of the ps5 IMO.

Sony does have the best controller haptic system and that in a handheld could be great. I think that if the push into handhelds by Sony/Xbox to try and compete with Nintendo and the steam deck causes some smaller scale and fun games to be released, that would be a positive for the industry.

I’ve kind of accepted a while ago that we’re not doing that as a species. There’s far too much money interested in keeping the status quo. The second Trump presidency is just the nail in the coffin for me.

Realistically, a mass population cull would probably be humanity’s best chance of having a comfortably habitable planet. No way are we shifting our society with the current trajectory of things.

Gonna just try and enjoy my life responsibly while the world burns unless there’s a radical wave of collective action that promises to truly uproot things.
