yes, but medium is the absolute best they can manage
Anything ubisoft makes. Or generally most things big companies make to cater biggest possible amount of people.
They added spyware to it.
Here is excerpt from the tos, shared by user in steam reviews of the game.

I wouldnt touch anything this company has produced.
so in other words, 500m will be spent on whitewashing google’s reputation.
messages moderator about it, banned from subreddit for no reason given. Or at least that is how i imagine how it would go
Was it done in such way it could just as easy to fool multiple scanners at the same time? As in scanning eye, finger and palm at the same time. Though I wonder how expensive/difficult/error prone it would be to implement something like that.
you could use some other service as your main channel and only use those to direct people to that other channel. For example when you do some bigger thing. Deny them the content while taking advantage of bigger visibility.
The music of this game and the previous one is really good
i have same problem with ghost touch, though it seems it happens only under certain kind of unknown conditions. I think it might have something to do with moisture in air and/or some other unknown thing.
well, the degree of that is also up to other people and how much effort they want to go through
There must still be some way to defend oneself against oppressive authorities in such way it doesn’t cause problems to yourself. Though on second thought it might not be good idea to post detailed ideas on public spaces where those hypothetical authorities can also read them. Its like we are living in beginning of boring cyberpunk dystopia.
What if we “comply” and give them their damn records if they come demanding them.
Gigabytes of data that is just red herrings and stuff that doesn’t lead anywhere but still has to be checked. And in formatted in such way it has to be done manually and can’t be automated without even bigger effort and cost. If you give it to ai it will just start spouting nonesense or preferrably accusing obviously wrong people. It is likely not possible to make something like that, but it would be great if it was.
Here are some reasons:
exclusivity deals, forcing them to drop from steam even after they first announced release on there. They also target crowdfunded games like phoenixpoint.
The launcher is spyware
https://forums.unrealengine.com/t/epic-launcher-and-privacy/123592
and epic is owned by tencent 40%
They not really trying to improve their launcher but instead focus on hurting steam and by extension the users.
Its like some shady guy trying to lure kids to a van by offering free candy.
The launcher is security risk for your system https://www.reddit.com/r/fuckepic/comments/1hm9mh9/epic_games_launcher_had_a_serious_security_flaw/
Even if they have fixed that specific issue, why would you believe they have fixed anything else?

That timeline is disgusting
So in essence, its not bad because it trys to compete with steam. Its bad because they really dont try to compete and just do anti-user things. And people dont care because “yay free games I’m never going to look at again”.
If you want to see what actual competition looks like at the moment, take a look at GOG.
If i do crime and get caught or admit it, I still have to face the law about it. Does bungie?
i have been waiting for long time for them to add enough content to be worth buying. If they are going this route, i guess i’ll forget about getting the damn game entirely
i’m kind of grateful for starfield actually. Feels like I can see bethesda as it actually is, even though it was obvious even before. Its so easy to just not care about anything they do. They can release next elderscrolls all they want, its all dead to me. Even if they manage to make it decent i still dont want to even look at it. Its going to cost 80€ or something like that most likely, so that is so much money saved for something more worthwhile too.
well, i guess i can stop feeling like i’m using wrong word for them then
even though there are enough signatures now, they still need more to be sure. Some percentage of the signatures will be invalid(people unable to spell their own names and fakes for example) so there has to be big enough safetymargin. Ross made video about it too.
So until the time runs out, everyone should make sure the safetymargin is as big as possible.
