You’re right. Here’s the difference though. With “piracy” they can estimate how many copies have been “stolen” and deduct that from their taxable income.
Most jobs I’ve had in the last 15 years have asked me if I want a Max or Windows PC. I’ve had Linux boxes at most of them as well, but not as the primary machine.
It’s in the app store. You don’t have to do that. If you’re talking about the server, that’s pretty easy.
Yeah, that’s a big limitation.
Oracle is awesome in this one specific way. They suck in all other ways but this is really good.

You’ve sent me down a nostalgia road with your mention of Populous. Here’s what I found, and I’ll be digging into tomorrow.
I’m not against it but what games are available on android? Everything I want to play is on Steam.
Seriously, just set up a kms in docker. Google pykms.
NextDNS is good. OpenDNS used to be, but you know… Cisco.
That’s how I felt with KDE 1 and 2. I left it alone for a while and recently came back to KDE 5 after getting a steam deck and now I’ve switched my desktop to it.
I use portainer, and when I deploy an image, I write a short bash script for it.
This lets me easily do updates. I have a script for each image I run, it’s less than a dozen. They’re all from public repositories.
If your computing needs are light, you can definitely use a steam deck as a laptop, but while traveling it won’t be a great experience for general computing. As a game system, it’s amazing. I absolutely love my deck.
I’ve never seen this before, but it looks straight forward to build. The inside dimensions are 4" x 6". You need a hydraulic press, and plate steel for the box and lid. The lid should fit smoothly in the top, it should all be about 3/4" to 1" thick. You can bolt together all the walls and base. The top should have a boss that meets the hydraulic ram.
The integration is built in. Just go into the settings.
Use Plex, and the *arr apps along with a usenet subscription. When I add something to my watchlist in Plex, it automatically downloads. It takes a little work to set up but it’s pretty seamless.
My pixel 5 has the screen separate from the body. I went ahead and got a 7 pro as an upgrade. I’ve had the original pixel, the pixel 3 and the 5. I seem to be skipping the even ones.
I don’t disagree at all, especially about the need for FOSS browsers.
Service providers in many countries are required by law to do this through DNS for years. The UK, Italy, Germany and Brazil are just a few that I’ve had personal experience with. Moving this to the browser really isn’t necessary since there will always be easy ways around these types of blocks.
Yes, exactly.
