Just when I was hoping to see some fan games start popping up, we’re gonna get Spyro 4: It’s about Slime or whatever. And they’ll probably lock it behind their stupid blizzard launcher and it will be console exclusive before it makes it to pc etc. etc.

Everytime I hear this I increasingly wish to get further away from people.

Good news: This will result in more average-user understanding of the fediverse, getting past the consistent issue of people not understanding it. It will increase the Fediverse’s usershare by a considerable amount. And to top it all off, it will probably cause a snowball which will make the Fediverse as a whole eclipse twitter.

Bad news: This is being done by facebook, willingly. Any company that is taking action like this is doing so for their own benefit and no one elses. This may be detrimental to the Fediverse in the long run if users opt to all just jump on to Threads because of some obnoxious ‘Embrace, Extend, Extinguish’ tactic they may or may not pull in the future.

It wasn’t uncommon at this time for Unix systems to be named after their relevant creator or platform like this. HP-UX, PC-UX A/UX etc.

Linux would probably be seen as LIN-UX or LIN/UX, it may not seeing as Linux is not Unix, but that’s just speculation.

Linux in its proper reading would be Linus Unix, but that doesn’t make any sense Linux is Unix-like, but it was made in a vacuum without access to Unix source or even Unix systems at all near the beginning.
