  • oh I’m sure they actually did. if there’s one thing Republicans are good at, it’s being contrarian assholes about all climate related policy. I’m sure someone tried to poke every hole they could in this.

but you’d have to have a pretty warped understanding of emissions to think that mowing a field with sheep is even close to a lawnmower. this field needs to be mowed to keep the solar panels clear. even if these sheep weren’t eaten or used for any other purpose, this would still be a good policy. as is though, we will also be getting wool, because these sheep will die without being sheered. we will likely be getting other products too. I’m not sure if they will be eaten, but probably not. they aren’t very popular for meat here.

sheep are legitimately a very green way to mow a field when you consider alternatives. like, i guess they could use those hand push manual mowers or scythes or something, but that would mean hiring thousands of people. that may be ultimately the best thing for everyone but the billionaires that profit on it, but let’s bee realistic here. that’s not happening.

  • man, I just wish there was s full embrace the absolute path. rise up to replace what’s her face of bhaal, but otherwise just advance their plans to play out the way the wanted.

i want to go full cult fanatic. the current evil runs are too similar to the good runs. maybe if the good run didn’t more or less shoehorn you into “infiltrating” the tower. like if moonrise was always hostile to good players and you unlocked it as a town by being bad.

as it stands now, you almost exclusively lose things or miss opportunities by being bad. there’s very little extra story to uncover in a bag guy run. there’s a few different endings, but those were added with like the last patch.

the evil playthrough is one of this games weak points. divinity is much better at that.

  • yeah, I’ll agree. the tech communities in there are not like that. it’s the political ones.

an example: they’ll say something off the wall about the Ukraine war and American support for it, you’ll reply with something that mentions the Americans that support and don’t support it among many other things, they’ll dog pile you for using the word “liberal” with the common American definition because apparently linguistic drift is illegal. theynever get off the subject and then never actually tell you their definition and how it differs.

that’s every political discussion with anyone from .ml involved. if it was just their own communities it would be fine, but it’s that they go out and do that with every community that doesn’t defederate.

imagine it this way; what if “the Donald” had broken off Reddit later and made one of the largest lemmy instances. they were perfectly cordial when you were in their funny dog pictures community, but they constantly act like trump supporters in every political thread.
obviously we’d all defederate with them. very few world even question that at this point.

that’s what this is. they’re just loud, and extreme, and annoying on this one subject. we’d rather not see the Linux main community hold us captive against excising the problem.

  • to me it was more the straw that broke the camel’s back. every rude and unreasonable interaction i have in here is with someone from .ml. it’s not even about their politics or beliefs, they’re just not pleasant to have around.

the second you try to engage them they throw the real arguments out for pedantry about definitions and using that to call people dumb instead of actually having meaningful discussion about ideas. they’re the worst kind of “it’s not my job to explain it to you, Google it” people too. like, i get the mindset, but it’s just not going to change anyone’s heart or mind. it’s not how you actually win an argument.

every person on Lemmy.ml argues like an annoying 14 year old atheist that just discovered Internet arguments and the think whole Internet is Christian. they’re just shitty to be around and basically never add anything meaningful to a discussion other than “you’re wrong and dumb”

that’s why i said they were like military pants but short lol

it’s still the same style of pants and that’s still how they’re described, theses ones are just cut into shorts. military is just the term for the style of pants worn in dress uniforms. it doesn’t mean every pair of pants in that cut are used by the military.

  • one big simple tip i can give you: Respec shadowheart. literally just pick a different type of priest. maybe knock her strength down a little. i like life domain, but plenty of the others are good too.

otherwise, just try to play with the environment more. be ok with not hitting the enemy sometimes. hide around corners and behind doors, shoot from high shadows, use the area of effects as well as you can. sometimes you can cheese the hell out of fights in ways the game encourage.

all that said, paladin starts week, shadowheart’s default loadout just IS week, rogue starts week, and with wizard you gotta find the spells that work for you. some of them are bad and the class starts with so few spell slots…

try getting the staff from the waukeen’s rest quest reward, the amulet of magic missile from blurg and like a couple other “lightning charge” items and give all that to gale and start spamming “magic missile” you’ll feel strong.
