Well, I don’t like throwing away devices I can still do something with, so I’m going to keep using the android devices I have until they stop working. After that, I’m not actually sure. I don’t want to completely give up on mobile gaming because I do like having an easy way to play games away from home, but I haven’t found a good alternative yet. Mobile Linux devices either aren’t worth their price or, if they are, I have no way to purchase them.

I would just install a mobile Linux distro onto newer android devices but on top of the fact that you can’t just install Linux onto android devices like you can on PCs, I’ve heard that, at least with some manufactures, that’s soon to be impossible as well.

I’m not sure what kind of games you are looking for but I’ve been playing Honkai Impact 3rd. The android version doesn’t have controller or mouse support but it has keyboard support and it’s fine. I think every action is mapped to the keyboard but the game doesn’t always tell you what everything is, the only one I’m not sure of is specifically the swiping QTE but QTEs are not used very often, so I never really had an issue with just using the touch screen for those. I would also imagine that Mihoyo’s other games are good too but I haven’t played them yet.

Another game I can suggest is Lego Star Wars the Complete Saga, if you like that kind of game. As far as I can tell, it’s mostly identical to the PC version but with the one difference being that the multiplayer has been removed.

I guess so, most (if not all) governments do like abusing their power.

The problem with that is that, at least with PayPal, they charge a fee to the service provider (Steam, in this case) for chargebacks. And, from what I’ve heard, that fee is significantly more than the original cost.

What goal do the payment processors have for doing things like this, is it just that they like knowing that they have the ability to control what you are and aren’t allowed to enjoy? I ask this because normally, when services change their policies, it’s done to improve profits. But from what I can tell, the payment processors can only lose money because they are eliminating potential revenue sources.

I will admit that I have no interest in any of the games that were removed, I’ve never even heard of them before today, but I don’t agree with payment processors having the ability to sensor content over some schizo bullshit.

I don’t intentionally use it to keep track of the games I’ve played but I’ve been using GameFAQs to keep track of older console games I have not yet played. It’s not perfect for this as I need to use documents to keep track of some additional information but I have yet to find a better alternative.

For PC games, some of the platforms I use, like GOG and Itch, actually have built in features to help me to keep track of what games I haven’t played yet. For the others (and mobile) I still have to use documents to keep track of this as well.

Is it not fully compatible with newer versions of Linux? All the gameplay and comparison videos I’ve seen look identical to the Windows version. I’d test it myself but I’m pretty sure my computer doesn’t have the hardware to run it even on low settings.

Is the EULA also applicable to the Linux version, assuming that Aspyr did actually port the game to Linux and not just use Wine or something?

This list is pretty cool but unfortunately for me, most of my devices aren’t listed. Two of them are listed but the specified OSs aren’t being actively updated anymore and most of the features are labeled as not working or untested.

Seeing this pains me, especially considering Id Software’s history with Linux. Prior to being bought by Bethesda, most of Id’s games had official native Linux ports. Even Doom 3 had a native Linux port, it doesn’t seem to work anymore but there are source ports like Dhewm3 available for it.

Yes but the problem is with Square Enix themselves. For some reason, they have the mindset that the only remake that would sell is FF7. This is the reason why they’ve been working not just two completely different remakes of the original game but also remakes of the sequels and prequels, along at least one new game that takes place in FF7’s universe. A remake of any game prior to FF11 would sell well but they exclusively chose to remake FF7.

They wouldn’t even have to go as far as they did the FF7 remake. They could easily remake one of the games in the style of something simpler like either Crisis Core or FF12 and it would probably sell very well, especially if it’s decently priced.

Do you remember what platform(s) it was on? There are a bunch of games that come to mind but none of them have everything you’ve mentioned.

I’ve haven’t used it before just now but the Android version of Firefox has an extension called “MobiDevTools” on their extension store. It has various web developer tools, including a developer console. For some reason it doesn’t seem to open when I’m on the extension store but it works just fine with every other website I tried.

I know that not everyone is interested in this but I’d use it as another method to play PC games on my Android devices. Right now, JoiPlay and a few source ports I’m aware of are the only apps that I’ve been able to get PC games working successfully with on any of my Android devices. I’ve tried both Winlator and Limbo Port but I have not yet gotten a single game working correctly in either of them. Granted, I have no idea how to properly configure them, so I might just not be using them correctly.

Is there any information on what they mean by a “Linux based OS”, like is it going to be “Linux” Linux or is it just going to be similar to android/ChromeOS? I’ve read a few articles about it but outside of it being called “Vega”, I can’t find any other information about it.

Yeah, it used to mount immediately after connecting but it doesn’t even show up at all anymore.

Unfortunatly, that wont work because I can’t get into the recovery menu.

That doesn’t because it just takes me back to droidboot.

When I plugged it in to my computer, it didn’t show up in the list of connected devices. I can try using fastboot but I have no idea what that is, can I use Linux or would I have to use Windows?

I acutally tried that and it will boot into the droidboot menu but it wont go into the recovery menu. So yeah, it’s probably dead. But it’s fine, there wasn’t anything important.
