Scotty, the Scottster, making copies…
Thank you. Not super techie and just needed the meme explained.
And btw… sounds like damn good work if you can get it.
I hate to spoil it. I just searched Kevin Smith Wild West Tarantula… and the title of the video had Superman in it. This tracks as I recall.
The only element of the very engaging story I do recall however is that… you should hear it from him and not me… is that he was working on the Superman project with a producer who was 100% interested in getting a huge mechanical Tarantula into the movie… and this apparently went on for years… this producer would try to get it into any movie he was working on. Kevin Smith goes to see Wild Wild West… and knows who produced it when he sees the tarantula.
It’s much more funny the way he tells it.
Have you heard Kevin Smith’s story about the enormous mechanical tarantula in that movie? Look it up, it’s hysterical.
Both. A nerd new nerds. The Ti friends had that shoot ‘em up gunslinger game… it was basically pong with a hat and guns.
Holy shit… I’m Pitfall old too. What a shit game.
You can pick up refurbs with 1T solid state drives.
I like using my own library of MP3s and knowing that for at least a small amount of time, I’m not being tracked in terms of what I’m listening. My clickwheel has a solid state terabyte so I just threw everything onto it.
If you long to use those nano-s, there are some cheap old Mac’s showing up on eBay or Craig’s list sometimes.
I run Linux on my daily driver, but I’m addicted to the click wheel iPod and I use this machine because of iTunes.
— still use one of these from 2011.
Burning one today just because of this post.
And yet I feel so much healthier.
It’s gotten to the point here at Lemmy that I’m wanting to set up my two favorite communities. It’s just that they are so niche I can’t imagine them taking off. And my pleasure in them is of course derived from people who are FAR MORE into them than I am.
But I can’t even go back to that cesspool Reddit now even for the good stuff. Oh well.
I arrived at LEMMY after what I think we very optimistically called the Reddit Collapse. We wish. And I had toe in LEMMY and a few others at Reddit.
Recently with their abusively patronizing redesigning and gamification and just ugly bullshit, I can’t stomach Reddit at all. So LEMMY grows increasingly important, not just to me but to folks who haven’t yet even heard of it.
So, I’ll just say thanks for your post here. I have, I confess, engaged with a couple bullies on LEMMY and I always try to say… I don’t like to do this on LEMMY— and I say that precisely for the reasons you mention.
And as you encourage: I will try to be kinder, even in when feeling… hmm… less than kind.
Best news ever!
