Decriminalisation helps users and lowers abuse, but it doesn’t take drug crime away from drug cartels. Which we definitely should do, and which would further help users and lower abuse.

That’s why it’s better to legalise everything and set up a regulated system. We can accept the fact that adult people can responsibly use even things such as cocaine, methamphetamines, opiates even. If there’s an actually regulated system that takes in account the user and suspected abuses, then it’s obviously vastly superior to any criminal run enterprise. It’s also healthier and funds the government through taxes from the funds which are now channelled directly into large international criminal enterprises.
