We’ve answered this question. The answer is yes. The follow on question “does America care”, appears to be a resounding “nope”.
“Care” is a spectrum. Taken as an aggregate, I’d say America is somewhere above, “frowny face” and somewhere below “getting shot to death by the National Guard while vainly storming the White House.”
It turns out storming the white house doesn’t seem to even actually do anything.
