You’re not wrong. But you’re like nine years late on this one.

In our beautiful current year of 2024 the fucker is running again after being impeached twice, after losing in 2020, after becoming a convicted felon.

Indeed. Might not be the rhetoric from this go round, but it’s great that you’re shining a spotlight on it. One more word soup statement that was a projection imo.

You know we all are so focused on him not being reelected in 2024 that we forget that if he won’t he’ll definitely find a way to run again in 2028 and we have all this hell all over again

Ignoring all that. Are he and Biden truly the best that that country has to offer, out of the ~290mil ~184mil native-born citizens over age 35?? I don’t believe that.

Edit: added restrictions on the age group.

Read the rest of the comment, before you get angry. You may find that full opinions are a little easier to swallow than the partial you chose to hear.

If the politicians and bureaucrats that Trump and friends pushed out are like murky swamp water, then the ones he brought in are like raw sewage, so I always said that he only wanted to “drain the swamp” so he’d have room to pump in said raw sewage.

A swamp supports a vibrant ecosystem he wants to destroy and pour over with concrete. Its like the Everglades and the sugar farmers all over again.

Scum floats to the top of the swamp and when it gets there is no longer wants the swamp to drain.

A “Showerthought” is a simple term used to describe the thoughts that pop into your head while you’re doing everyday things like taking a shower, driving, or just daydreaming. The most popular seem to be lighthearted clever little truths, hidden in daily life.

Here are some examples to inspire your own showerthoughts:

  • Both “200” and “160” are 2 minutes in microwave math
  • When you’re a kid, you don’t realize you’re also watching your mom and dad grow up.
  • More dreams have been destroyed by alarm clocks than anything else

Rules

  1. All posts must be showerthoughts
  2. The entire showerthought must be in the title
  3. No politics
    • If your topic is in a grey area, please phrase it to emphasize the fascinating aspects, not the dramatic aspects. You can do this by avoiding overly politicized terms such as “capitalism” and “communism”. If you must make comparisons, you can say something is different without saying something is better/worse.
    • A good place for politics is c/politicaldiscussion
  4. Posts must be original/unique
  5. Adhere to Lemmy’s Code of Conduct and the TOS

If you made it this far, showerthoughts is accepting new mods. This community is generally tame so its not a lot of work, but having a few more mods would help reports get addressed a little sooner.

Whats it like to be a mod? Reports just show up as messages in your Lemmy inbox, and if a different mod has already addressed the report, the message goes away and you never worry about it.
