I seem to recall that arresting Gerasimov during a visit to Rostov-on-Don was part if the plan, and one of the generals next in line was friendly to Wagner so it would’ve created division in the ranks. But Shoigu got tipped off, the general backed out, and Prigozhin eventually realized without military backing he’d eventually lose
Imagine if Prigozhin had waited until now for his ill-fated push to the Kremlin…
As I recall, he called it off after the Kremlin walked back whatever policy it was that pissed him off.

At least he has learned his lesson now. /s
Don’t fly over Russia after trying to do a coup?
You mean, don’t use airplanes in Russia period? Also, don’t stand close to windows.
All these things.
Imagine if he had balls and actually did it back then
As they say in Breaking Bad: no half-measures. It got him murdered anyway, he should have gone all the way with a coup…
Prigozhin sobering up early is one of history’s big disappointments.
