Not sure if I am surprised or not.
Iirc during his first period the Onion actually just wrote factual articles about Trump, stating that they could not make up content to compete with reality
Norway has also issued a travel warning for trans people going to the US
They’ll probably call themselves Patresortians to reflect how great patriots they are to be proud of making such a terrible place so beatiful (in their minds).
Same way American emmigrants like to call expats instead of emmigrants
Another aspect that plays into deciding the level of pay for elected officials, is to also reduce the appeal of bribes/corruption. Obviously there should/need to be laws to prevent that as well, but some people will always skirt og break the rules if there is a large enough gain.
Ofcourse the catholic church is not onboard with murdering children. How will the clergy get laid if all the children are killed?
But on a more serious note, the current pope is actually doing a decent job of calling out atrocities and promoting some of the decent aspects of their faith, and not propping up all of the bad stuff as god’s will
barbarian wags
From what I understand, freight trains in the US are also paid in terms of tonnage per train. This incentivises slapping on as many carts with product as possible, even as speed suffers under the strain of all that weight. Considering that all single tracks require meeting trains to stop and wait for these super long, super slow freight trains, passenger traffic get a lot of increased travel time.
There is a more in depth and interesting video on the issue here(Wendover Productions) https://youtu.be/qQTjLWIHN74?si=h8wri7SeNeMwImVz
That’s not Boo! It’s just some common bitch
There are many sublime sublemmies
I wanne see old, noseless Vlaakith Cage!
There is a list divided per act of permanent bonuses here https://bg3.wiki/wiki/Permanent_bonuses
It’ probably one of the most used optional rules, but it is one. It is a lot of fun to have that nat 20 turn a hairy situation around :)
Yep, bg3 implememted the optional rule of nat 20 always being a success and nat 1 always being a failure
The player herself has stated that she did not consent
I feel this is just a natural step in a new, growing platform/community.
Initially there is a smaller userbase tending to be more like minded/interested, and people will mostly behave.
As some get more comfortable and as more users join there will be a point where conflicting views and interests congregate while there may still be lacking people and tools to moderate the discussion, in addition to there being just the amount of content that it is difficult for bad faith content to be buried.
I think a lot of the fediverse is here now, where users are exposed to other users and content with either differing views or straight up intentional bad faith, whereas they previously were in heavily moderated communities or was only exposed to their section of content. Sometimes this might lead to good discussions, while other times it will devolve into rudeness or spite (especially with bad faith parties)
Eventually the amount of content may grow so that these incidents will be harder to notice, and/or more users will also bring more people and tools to aid in moderating said users and content
I think the idea of using these big sporting events to upgrade or build new facilities is a good one, however the current practice where the host nation/city sits on most/all the expenses and the organizer/owner of the event reeps the profit is completely turned on it’s head.
There is enough money involved in these events amd organizations that they should foot more of (maybe most of) the bill to build the facilities and infrastructure, and the host covers some aspects as well as providing the permits and location itself.
Furthermore, some events such the Olympics have such ridiculous demands that cities/nations should start telling them to fuck off imo. One of the more obvious ones being the demand that IOC leaders require a direct private road accessible by limo between their hotel and the venues
For the most part, MS does not need to do any lobbying in my experience. MS software and Office suite is generally the default for anyone who has not been particularly tech interested or worked in tech related fields.
Especially in terms of government/public type domains, almost everyone defaults to MS because it’s what they’ve always had, what everyone else has or they don’t know what alternatives there are.
The few to choose otherwise usually go for Google Suite, which in this particular case probably would have had the same result.
