Last thing I remember yesterday many condemned Israel for announcing it’s land development program that is gossiped as planned on occupied territories. Today there were news of a shitbag minister who voiced a plan to take the West Bank under a military rule (and to convert it into profits?), and I don’t see many support to him there as well. Would it be too cynical to ask wtf these settlers would be doing there?

My guess: unresolved national tensions and probable separatism seeds + weakness of the state in the last year (Prigo’s march, Krokus, buryatian demonstrations against jailing a known activist) + 24\7 stream of hatred on TV + jealousy of more autonomous and supported regions. That’s not like there wasn’t any violence here, but recently it became more apparent with Mahachkala’s airport being crowded by a mob of locals to ‘meet’ people who arrived from Israel. This place becomes more dangerous and as you pointed out Moskow would likely ignore it. And it’s too random for a false flag, I believe.

I think this action lacked some supportive commentary, a spoken idea why they did it and what does it mean. It comes of as an attention bait without a clear message. It’s also too random to associate it with climate activism without a context.

After hearing about that I thought what would become our Stonehenge if we fail miserably (Statue of Liberty, like in Planet of the Apes?), or if we get back into a new Stone Age making this circular monument both the past and the future of humankind. I would not probably care that much if they actually damage it a bit if that’s for creating a powerful symbol, adding to it’s (contemporary) significance instead of taking from it. But that’s too much to ask, it seems, all we can do is orange paint.

On Reddit I had my porn subs collected into one tab (+Friends tab) and this didn’t show anywhere else, but there it’s only solvable by creating another account on lemmynsfw for that while banning all porn on your main acc. Following one creator without their own /c/ is a problem.

IIRC Wordpress had plugins to autorepost into other places. Maybe if Lemmy had one, it could’ve been perceived as less isolated by OC authors. For now you need to put effort to post a thing there too, for the sake of a small 1 mil userbase.

Just like with cryptocurrencies as a crime tool, it needs to get traction so interesting transactions mix with ordinary ones. True, even without reunification (what’s for?), China gets more by economical means than it would ever has via invasion. It’s insane production capacity, belt&road schemes, education and science are a caricature of a suntzian wise guy who wins a war without a battle. Reducing themselves to a war (and probably destroying everything they are jealous of in Taiwan in the process) would be embarassingly stupid.
