Just finished building this beast. It’s a ratrig Vcore 3.1 with a 500x500x500mm build volume and blazing speed.

On my VC3 500 I use a rapido with a 0.4mm. My default PLA settings are 300mms with 10kmms2 acceleration. I’m not sure about OP but for me the larger build volume lets me kick off a full plate of parts and come back a few hours later. Gets pretty good quality but at that size/weight you do get some ringing on the parts.

Ayy another vc3500 haver. I use a .6mm bondtech CHT volcano, but honestly I’ve been having trouble getting past 30mm^3 per second, which is unfortunate. My main goal with it is actually giant parts, but the mass production thing is pretty cool too.

North of ~25mm^3 I’ve found I need to really up the temps to keep up with PLA (mainly using eSun) which then also means a lot more cooling. I managed a pretty decent 14 minute benchy but need to retest as I’ve upgraded my cooling.

        My current setup for extrusion:

        • Rapido high flow with CHT
        • Orbiter 2 with blowy mod to run at higher current
        • CPAP remote cooling with a WS7040 blower
        • HUVUD toolboard on printhead

Mine is basically the ratrig recommended defaults except for the CHT, a beacon scanner, and a carbon fiber rail. I got to a 16 minute benchy basically immediately, but anything else I print that fast causes either skipped steps or belt slips and I’m not sure why.

Nice not bad! A pretty easy upgrade for power (if you have a mainboard that supports it) is to go to 48v for the steppers with 5160 step sticks, gobs more power, but you are also now getting to territory where a crash can start really breaking stuff. There is also a group in the discord where they are working on the AWD mod to add 2 more steppers to the XY motion allowing for insane speeds.
