Crawford County Sheriff's Office in Missouri won praise for its jokey post about the encounter with the vehicle, which was reportedly created by a man from Indiana.
At least the geo has a driver’s airbag, crumple zones, disk breaks, shoulder belts, and dash and steering wheel that won’t turn your face into ground chuck, and a rear gas tank that only a Pinto would love.
Still probably safer than my 65 Mustang.

Drums in the rear, if I remember right. And power nothing. Old friend of a friend had one and I got to drive it for curiosity’s sake.
A family member who did fatal accident reconstruction would quip that ‘technically yes, but the crumple zone involves you’.
Oh yeah, I’m not saying they’re safe, I’m just saying the my classic car is a really cool looking death trap.
I ended up totally updating the breaks with disks because I was tired of starting a block away to stop at a red light.
